Beznau nuclear power plant: Unit 1 back on the grid

28.10.2024 - Unit 1 of the Beznau nuclear power plant is back on the grid after being offline for several weeks. The investigations into the feedwater tank have been completed.

On 28 September, Axpo took Unit 1 of the Beznau nuclear power plant off the grid for repairs to a power cable. These works went according to plan. Nevertheless, the restart was delayed due to the newly available results of an inspection of the feedwater tanks in the non-nuclear part of the plant. These made further clarifications necessary (see media release of 28 September).

These clarifications have now been completed. The inspection confirmed the safety of the feedwater tanks. The supervisory authority ENSI has been informed of the results.
