30.03.2021 - Axpo is expanding its business activities in Central Eastern Europe: The company’s Warsaw-based subsidiary signed a long-term contract with Wienerberger Polska – part of Wienerberger Group, the world’s largest producer of bricks. Under the agreement, Axpo Polska will supply natural gas to Wienerberger’s Polish factories.
By signing the deal with Wienerberger Polska, Axpo Polska has won another key customer and further strengthened its position in the Polish gas market. Axpo Polska will be Wienerberger’s long-term supplier of natural gas. The client will benefit from a flexible agreement under which prices are indexed to foreign natural gas markets with high liquidity.
Paweł Wierzbicki, Head Origination at Axpo Polska, commented: “Besides ramping up our business with the marketing of renewable energies in Poland, we are focused on expanding our share of the Polish natural gas market. The deal signed with Wienerberger is an important milestone for us and underpins our ability to provide large industrial customers with tailor-made and flexible solutions on a long-term basis”.

As the world’s largest producer of bricks, market leader in clay roof tiles in Europe and concrete pavers in Eastern Europe, the company is one of the leading suppliers in Europe. 12 of its total of over 200 production sites are located in Poland.

Clients in Poland can benefit from tailor-made power purchase agreements (PPAs), as well as power and gas supply solutions based on structured long term contracts.
