13.09.2017 | The last Axpo PluSport Cup event in 2017

A day among peers

It was great at the Axpo PluSport Cup event held at the Stighag sports facility in Kloten. Some 140 players from German-speaking Switzerland competed in the adult and teen/children categories. What about team spirit? What makes the Axpo PluSport Cup different from other football tournaments? The video will give you some insights!

The Axpo PluSport teams competed against each other for the last time at the Stighag sports facility in Kloten. Following the motto: "Happiness is playing football in the rain," the teams braved the elements until the very end despite the downpour. Noteworthy, was the team spirit that all the squads have in common.

Of course, everyone has a funny story to tell, including the FC Zürisee Kids coach Thomas Heckel. "We have Simon, who doesn't move around a lot during practice, but when he has the ball he just kicks it somewhere. So one time he kicked it right into the basket ball hoop - and everyone cheered." Good cheer, happiness and teamwork characterised the atmosphere last weekend. See what Oliver Liechti, a player on FC Zürisee, particularly appreciates about his team, and how Bruno Kalt, Aargau Football Association referee (AFV), experienced the tournament in the video:
