27.08.2018 | Axpo works together with arwo, a charity foundation for people with disabilities

A team for six years

The trend toward underground power lines has resulted in an increased need for ground and marker stakes. The stakes are used in surveying potential locations for underground power lines. Since 2012, Axpo has been in a partnership with arwo that has an in-house carpentry workshop to produce wood products.

A good team: Patrik Schönenberger, Technical Specialist/Surveying Line Construction at Axpo and Matthias Lindegger, Head of the Carpentry Workshop at arwo. Arwo has been producing wooden ground and marker stakes for Axpo for six years. The demand for stakes has grown because more and more power lines are being installed underground. Five stakes per mast are required for an overhead line, whereas a stake is needed at least every 30 metres along an underground cable path. The number increases on curved paths. This demand could no longer be covered internally.

The cooperation between Axpo and arwo is a professional and flexible one with a good working rapport. The partnership is not just a social commitment. "Supporting the institution is great, but the result also counts. The quality of the arwo stakes is much better in comparison to traditional manufacturers.
