After two years of interruption finally again Plu sports day in Magglingen! At the "End of the World", over 1000 athletes with physical or mental disabilities from all parts of Switzerland met for their "Olympics". At the Axpo Relax-Corner, they were able to regain energy from the stakes and win great gadgets with little games.

Axpo has been a proud sponsor of Plu sports day for 15 years, and Axpo volunteers have always been actively involved in shaping the day. This time, Axpo offered the Relax Corner as an opportunity to relax, play and talk. The athletes and their companions visibly enjoyed the soft drinks and Axpo apples. But the highlight was the bowling alley and the wheel of fortune, where with a little skill there were great prizes to be won.

Denise Chandler, who coordinated the organisation for Axpo and managed everything on site, was very pleased. "It was a really enjoyable event. The enthusiasm of the participants is contagious, and the gratitude for a drink, an apple or a small prize is touching." The Axpo volunteers were in charge of the game and catering stations, but also had time in between to take a look at the sporting competitions.

For René Pfister from Plusport, the Axpo Relax Corner was a "welcome and valuable addition to the actual competitions. There is no other place here where you can sit down and relax in the shade and talk to others. A great idea from Axpo and nicely realized!"

The last two years Plusport had to cancel the event due to Corona, or had to implement it regionally on a smaller scale. That's why the participants were all the more pleased to be able to meet again in Magglingen. For the future, Pfister and Plusport are also considering alternative event models, for example several competition days in different regions.

Denise Chandler and the Axpo team are certainly looking forward to it. "I had no trouble finding volunteers," Denise said. "Without compensation, on a Sunday. Being a part of this is a matter of honor."
