08.04.2024 - Axpo has acquired the Swiss software company LINIA, it was announced today. Completed on 1 April 2024, the deal marks Axpo’s further expansion into automated electricity grid inspection, giving it a unique full-service offering and access to new markets.

Axpo and LINIA have worked together for several years on automated aerial surveys of power lines and data evaluation. Axpo has now taken over the company, which will be integrated into its Axpo Grid AG subsidiary in the coming months, offering customers an even better service from a single source. The transaction underlines Axpo’s ambitions as a provider of innovative solutions and its commitment to Switzerland’s start-up sector. The LINIA brand will be retained after the takeover and continue to be used for customers. The parties have agreed not to disclose details of the sale price.

Axpo Grid Head of Sales & Market Keyvan Shokoofh said: "With the acquisition of LINIA as a proven specialist in automated power grid inspection, we are expanding our scope of delivery and achieving a unique product depth."

LINIA co-founder and Managing Director Lorenzo Arizzoli-Bulato added: "The merger with a dynamic and innovative player like Axpo offers ideal conditions for further developing and marketing LINIA software and services."

LINIA is a Swiss start-up company founded six years ago. Its integrated software solutions enable a digitalised inspection process that significantly increases inspection quality, speed and safety while reducing costs and CO2 emissions.
