Successful lone worker solution for Axpo Systems by Axpo Hydro Digital

Axpo Systems is a leading provider of crisis-proof data communication and specializes in the planning, design, implementation, construction, maintenance and operation of high-quality and reliable communication solutions. In addition to the office and warehouse facilities, the headquarters in Lupfig is also home to the Network Operating Center (NOC), which ensures the constant availability of business-critical data connections for a large number of customers.

Ensuring the safety of employees working alone in the NOC was a particular challenge for Axpo Systems. It is difficult for lone workers to protect themselves in the event of an accident. It was therefore crucial to find a reliable and efficient solution to ensure adequate protection for these employees. Axpo Systems therefore turned to Axpo Hydro Digital to implement a customized lone worker solution.

Axpo Hydro Digital implemented Uepaa's innovative lone worker solution in Lupfig between November 2023 and March 2024. The process began with a detailed analysis of the premises to determine the optimal locations for installing the beacons. At the beginning of March, a total of 32 beacons were then installed throughout the building to ensure complete reception. At the same time, the Uepaa app was configured and various alarm levels were set up. Finally, five employees received intensive training on how to use the app and the new security processes. In the event of a medical emergency, Uepaa alerts the Uepaa alarm center in the first instance. This coordinates and alerts the emergency services if necessary.

The introduction of Uepaa's lone worker support by Axpo Hydro Digital was an absolute breakthrough for the Axpo Systems team. With the installation of the beacons and the app, employees are not only better protected, but their safety and productivity have also been significantly improved. The work of the NOC employees is now safer than ever, as they can receive rapid support at any time in an emergency.

Ronny Amman, Technical Lead NOC, commented: "The collaboration was extremely professional and focused right from the start. The Axpo Hydro Digital team not only contributed their technical expertise, but also a deep understanding of our specific requirements. Thanks to this excellent support, we were able to raise the safety of our employees to a new level. We are delighted with the additional security in our day-to-day work and would like to thank Axpo Hydro Digital for their great cooperation and commitment."

Axpo Hydro Digital is looking forward to further joint projects and the continuation of the successful partnership with Axpo Systems.
