Welcome to Beznau, Leibstadt and Würenlingen. Or as we like to say – welcome to Nuclear Valley.
We’re committed to reliability. In the Beznau and Leibstadt nuclear power plants, we produce environmentally friendly electricity around the clock, safely and reliably. And at the Zwilag facility in Würenlingen, we ensure that nuclear waste is stored safely.
Become part of Nuclear Valley and do your part to ensure that our society can continue benefitting from carbon-free energy production.
For reliable energy production in a reliable environment.
The Beznau nuclear power plant (KKB) is part of Axpo’s power plant portfolio. It consists of two structurally identical light water reactors, each with a nominal capacity of 365 megawatts. Together, the two reactors generate approximately 6,000 gigawatt hours of electricity per year. That’s around twice the electricity use of the city of Zurich. The Beznau nuclear power plant also supplies heat to the Refuna grid (the Lower Aare Valley regional heating grid).
