Schloss Böttstein sold

Share

05.07.2017 - Axpo has sold Schloss Böttstein in the canton of Aargau to a private individual from the Zurich area, with the parties agreeing not to disclose the sale price or the identity of the buyer. The new owner has assured Axpo of their intention to maintain the local hotel and restaurant business and retain the current staff.

The process to sell Schloss Böttstein began in 2016 and has now been brought to a successful conclusion. The new owner, who has many years’ experience in the catering and hotel industry, acquired the manor house and its surrounding estate with effect from 1st July 2017. The buyer has assured Axpo that Schloss Böttstein, which is famed for its idyllic setting on the Aare river and its exquisite cuisine, will be preserved in its familiar form.

Axpo had purchased Schloss Böttstein back in 1964. It has housed a hotel and restaurant business since 1974, with the company originally having used the property as offices. The sale is a direct result of Axpo’s decision to sell assets that do not form a key part of its strategy.
