21.01.25 – The Board of Directors of Aarekraftwerk Klingnau AG (AKA) has approved the annual report and accounts for the 2023/24 financial year for submission to the Annual General Meeting. Electricity production increased by around 10 per cent compared to the previous year.
In the 2023/24 financial year, the Aare power plant in Klingnau produced around 212 million kilowatt hours of electricity for its partners. This is around 10 per cent more than in the previous year and corresponds to the consumption of around 46,000 four-person households. The increase in production is due to the favourable hydrological conditions during the reporting period. The Aare was carrying around 38 percent more water than the long-term average. On a total of 123 days, more water flowed than the power plant was able to turbine (previous year: 32 days).
Annual costs charged to the partners fell slightly during the reporting period to CHF 11.1 million (previous year: CHF 11.3 million). This results in production costs of 5.22 cents per kilowatt hour (previous year: 5.92 cents per kilowatt hour).
Aarekraftwerk Klingnau AG is a partner plant of Axpo and AEW Energie AG. Axpo holds 60 per cent of the shares, AEW Energie AG 40 per cent.
