The Beznau nuclear power plant (KKB) is located on the Aare island near Döttingen, surrounded by forests and green spaces. Around 600 people work here to ensure that the nuclear power plant reliably supplies climate-friendly electricity. At the KKB, learning starts on day one. After a comprehensive introduction, you start a modular, one- to two-year training program which is structured slightly differently depending on your function.
General power plant training includes various modules on occupational safety, radiation protection, maintenance, radioactive waste, decommissioning planning and power plant operation in general. In addition, there are various internal training courses relating to the energy sector, energy production, and trading and sales, which are offered by the Axpo Academy.
