25.03.2025 - The technical failure in the non-nuclear part of the plant has been rectified. Block 2 of the Beznau nuclear power plant was reconnected to the grid late Monday evening.
The repairs for the restart of Block 2 have been completed. Electrical components in the non-nuclear part of the plant were affected. Once the failure had been rectified, Block 2 was reconnected to the grid. The supervisory authority ENSI had given its approval for the restart in advance.
The reactor in Unit 2 was automatically shut down in the night from Sunday to Monday. This was triggered by a failed connection to the 220 kV grid. The plant reacted as intended in such cases and was in a safe state at all times.
