AlpinSolar

Built by Axpo and IWB, the AlpinSolar power plant is the largest mountain solar power plant in Switzerland. The facility is located on the Muttsee dam, the highest dam in Europe, which is part of the Limmern pumped storage power plant in the Glarne Alps. AlpinSolar produces 3.3 gigawatt hours of electricity per year, half of which in winter.

Hydropower

Around 60 per cent of Switzerland's electricity comes from hydropower, placing the country among Europe's leaders in terms of the share of hydropower in electricity production. Axpo operates around 60 hydroelectric power plants and is the largest producer of hydropower in Switzerland.
