We are part of the Swiss Axpo Group. We combine international experience with an understanding of local market specifics and the expectations of our customers and partners, allowing us to create solutions precisely tailored to your needs.

We supply electricity and gas to over 40 international industrial clients and more than 35,000 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. During our nearly 25-year presence in Poland, we have become one of the most active sellers on the Polish Power Exchange and the over-the-counter market. We are also one of the largest independent offtakers of renewable energy in the country, developing energy storage facilities and biogas power plants as well as implementing large-scale photovoltaic projects.

Almost 25 years have passed since we opened our office in Warsaw. In the early days, we focused on understanding the structure of the growing energy market, obtaining the necessary concessions or establishing contacts with market participants. We also focused on finding effective ways to add value for customers.

Ten years after our entry into the Polish market, the government published a legal framework supporting the transition to renewable energy, and many companies decided to build the first commercial wind farms in the country.

At that time, we played a leading role by providing developers with long-term, structured power purchase agreements (known as PPAs), which served as credit security for investors.

To successfully develop PPAs and simultaneously enrich our offer and product range, we started working on additional services.

In 2013, we expanded sales to industrial customers, and a year later to small and medium-sized enterprises, offering comprehensive energy solutions.

In the spring of 2022, we launched a new segment of Axpo’s operations, involving the construction of our first own solar power plants. Since the end of 2023, we have been developing energy storage facilities, and at the beginning of October 2024 we became the owner of a biogas power plant in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

For more than 20 years, Axpo Polska has grown to become one of the largest players in the domestic energy market. We were the first company to decide to sell only energy covered by guarantees of origin or other certificates certifying its generation from renewable sources. Thanks to our innovative customer-oriented approach, today we are among the leading sellers of renewable energy in the country.

In July 2024, we were named the largest independent energy seller in Poland according to a ranking by the weekly magazine ‘Wprost’.

The birth year of today’s Axpo is also the year when the first power plant network in Switzerland was established. In 1908, the then company Motor AG connected its Beznau hydroelectric power plant (in the canton of Aargau) with the power plant on the Löntsch river (in the canton of Glarus) using a 100-kilometer line with a voltage of 27 kilovolts. These two over 100-year-old power plants form the foundation of Axpo.
