Italia Team is ready for Olympics

On Friday the long awaited sporting event starts. Axpo Italia and Pulsee are sponsors of the Italia Team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The fourth largest energy company in the free market and owner of Pulsee, a fully digital electricity and gas supply brand, are supporting the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) as Official Partner.

The national team has shown the Italian identity through its sports achievements to the whole world: A nation of brave, resolute and strong people. After the troubled times Italy and the whole world faced the past year, these values have become of more importance. The fourth biggest energy player in Italy, Axpo Italia and its brand for domestic energy (power and gas) Pulsee are proud to support the Azzuri in Tokyo.

The sponsoring deal started on the 12th of July, when Axpo was the first company to sign a sponsoring contract in the post-COVID era: "This partnership is the beginning of a new phase. It is a very important signal of recovery and hope," explains Giovanni Malagò, president of CONI. "We are proud to be supported by a company like Axpo Italia and I hope that this partnership will give us a lot of good energy and enthusiasm and will be a good omen to look with more confidence to a more peaceful future for all Italian sport so that it can achieve more and more important results".

Besides supporting Casa Italia, the headquarters of Team Italy in Tokyo, the all-digital gas and electricity supply brand Pulsee is also sponsoring the “Pulsee Energy Team”, selected athletes of the Italian Olympic team.

The partnership between Axpo Italia and CONI strengthens the energy company's long-standing commitment to the world of sports in Italy. "We believe that sport is a precious training ground for life and that is why we decided to start this great partnership. Dedication, tenacity and respect for others are in fact values that we try to apply constantly in our company in order to grow on a personal and professional level," says Salvatore Pinto, president of Axpo Italia.

"The alliance with CONI consolidates the commitment that Axpo Italia has undertaken for years to promote sport. The project has a strong cultural value and, by accompanying the Italian Olympic Team to the Olympics and supporting their journey, we want to get even closer to the community. Energy pushes us every day to do our best, just like the athletes" adds Simone Demarchi, CEO of Axpo Italia.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be held in the Japanese capital from 23 July to 8 August 2021.
