At Axpo, we create environmentally friendly energy solutions based on innovative technologies that meet the highest quality standards. Using our extensive knowledge and many years of experience, we respond to the challenges of the future.
Axpo is a major international player in photovoltaics field. We are active in the solar business along the entire value chain and has extensive expertise in the planning, construction and operation of solar plants.
Solar is the most installed renewable energy source in the world, ahead of wind and hydro. Our aim is to continually contribute to the large-scale development of solar power so that it meets as much of the world's energy needs as possible.
The sun is certainly the most inexhaustible source of energy on our planet. This renewable energy is one of the major solutions for sustainably and responsibly meeting the energy needs of humanity. It is also a great opportunity to fight against climate change and to start a real energy transition.
Available everywhere, this local energy is also one of the easiest to implement and fastest to install.
We have a great expertise in the realization of solar power plants. We offer a turnkey service that includes obtaining approvals, engineering, development, financing, construction and operation of power plants to produce low-carbon electricity. Below you can see photos showing some of our many completed projects.
With more than 1 GW of projects in operation, we master all aspects of a project and offer the best technologies.

Our extensive experience and vast knowledge enable us to successfully implement photovoltaic projects for municipalities, farmers, investors, and energy-intensive enterprises.
Solar panels generate electricity when the sun is shining, which is expected. However, even on cloudy days, they can still produce electricity, although not at full capacity. This is similar to how our skin responds to UV rays even when it's overcast. About 75% of the electricity from conventional solar systems in lowland areas is produced between May and September. In contrast, alpine solar systems can generate significant amounts of electricity during the winter months.
A typical solar panel (one square meter in size) made of commercially available silicon can produce an average of 150-170 watts on a clear, sunny day in Poland, which is sufficient to power a laptop. A solar power system with multiple panels covering 20 square meters can generate approximately 3,600 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually. In comparison, an average Polish household uses around 2500 kWh of electricity per year.
Generally, the output of solar panels depends on factors such as the amount of sunlight (global radiation/geographical location), orientation (the more accurately the photovoltaic system is positioned at the optimal angle facing south, the higher the yield), and shading (from trees, chimneys, etc.). Additionally, the quality of the solar cells significantly affects overall performance.
