A lot has happened since 1895, when Motor AG (the precursor to Axpo Holding AG) was founded to build the Beznau hydroelectric plant in the Swiss canton of Aargau. Since then, we’ve steadily expanded across Europe and now have over 30 subsidiaries across three continents.

Axpo Iberia was established in 2001 as part of EGL, one of the subsidiaries of the Swiss Axpo Group. In 2022, Axpo Services EMEA was created to ensure strategic alignment between the Swiss teams and those based in Madrid.

Globally, the Axpo Group focuses on wind and solar energy, constantly investing in the most technically and economically suitable locations. Our wind farm portfolio includes sites in countries such as France, Spain, Italy, and Germany. We also market energy from the Global Tech I offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
