Axpo Polska has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the offtake of energy from six wind farms in Poland owned by DIF Capital Partners, it was announced today. With a total installed capacity of 171 MW, the facilities will produce an estimated 500 GWh of green electricity a year. The PPA provides for spot market settlements, purchase of guarantees of origin, and the provision of balancing services.
Under the partnership with DIF Capital Partners, a Netherlands-based infrastructure fund manager, Axpo Polska will offtake energy from all DIF Capital Partners’ wind farms in Poland. The contract provides for spot market the settlements, the purchase of guarantees of origin, and the provision of balancing services. Negotiations between the parties were supported on Axpo's behalf by Konrad Kosicki, Partner and Head of the Energy and Natural Resources Practice at Greenberg Traurig Poland.

Having operated in Poland for more than 20 years, Axpo has become one of the largest independent offtakers of green energy in the country. The contract, which further reinforces Axpo Poland’s market position, covers six wind farms located across Poland in Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Podlaskie and Wielkopolskie province.
